"God of love and youth" pottery cremation urn for ashes.
Aonghus is associated with the valley of the River Boyne.
His story is that he searched all of Ireland for a beautiful maiden. Aonghus eventually found Caer, who was with 150 other maidens destined to turn into swans on November 1, the feast of Samhain. Aonghus transformed himself into a swan so he could be united with Caer, who followed him back to his palace on the River Boyne, now modern day Newgrange.
Urn size - 200 cubic inches
A white crackle is displayed on this pottery funeral urn which has been hand thrown and Raku glazed. This cremation urn was formed by the elements, born out of the earth and is a sight to behold. A small percentage of tin in the glaze formula produces the white colour contrasting beautifully with the matt black. The areas without glaze have turned black due the lack of oxygen in the smoking chamber. This pottery cremation urn is one of a kind, a sight to behold and an urn for a special soul.
