The legend of Goodess Airmid of the Tuatha Dé Danann, is the story of a gentle and compassionated soul. Airmid was terribly pained by the death of her beloved brother, Miach, who was killed by the hands of their own father. Upon seeing his dead body and feeling over come with betrayal, she wrapped Miach in her arms and covered him in tears. As she cried her pure love and compassion transformed into a river of flowing tears that washed away their souls, carrying them both into the safe world of the spirits.
